POI stands for Point Of Interest.
POIs are addresses and places such as service stations, restaurants, hotels, car parks, garages, as well as branches of fast food restaurants, retail outlets, chemists, cinemas, sports stadiums, museums and much more which may be of interest to someone driving to an unfamiliar location.
In our navigation system, these are presented as small symbols – icons – on the map. If you want to find out what the symbols mean, just look them up in the list provided below. Extra information for POIs can also be entered, such as opening times, addresses and telephone numbers for instance. This is available with our naviflash i-versions which are equipped with exclusive POIs from Merian Scout travel guides.
So if you should be in a foreign city, you can’t only find specific streets – if you notice your fuel indicator flashing, you can also find a service station. Or for that matter, restaurants if you notice that your stomach’s empty, and thanks to the stored telephone number you can even reserve your table when you’re on the road. And if you’ve got some free time after your business deal, naviflash can tell you where the best shopping malls and museums are located. With POIs, you simply drive well.
