How do I install map material onto my CF card?

1. If your naviflash is equipped with a 4 GB CF card, you don’t normally have to change anything on the CF card.

2. If your naviflash is equipped with a 1 GB CF card, installing the card material packages from the DVD to the CF card is necessary if you want to drive in a country other than Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Liechtenstein, or Luxemburg. These countries are factory-installed onto the CF card.

3. The following information is necessary for the management of the map material, meaning copying from the DVD to the CF card for instance.
- the serial number of the Compact Flash Card.
- the licence number of the DVD, and
- the key number
You can find all of these numbers on your navigation system in the ‘Info’ menu item.

4. Copy Maps
a) For the administration of the maps, for example copying a country pack from the map material DVD to the CF card of your navigation system, you need the Naviflash Colour Update Manager (NFCUM) which you also need for an operating system update. You find the NFCUM on our homepage / Service / Download or on the DVD provided.

b) You can install this software on your computer. When installing the DVD just insert the DVD, the program will then open automatically. Just select a language and click on “install”. The program will also create automatically a file and a program icon on your desktop. Just confirm the installation processes with Next or OK. Installing the program from the internet is just as easy.

c) Now open the program in case it hasn’t opened yet.

d) Click on the globe symbol, on the data base manager.

e) Remove the CF card from the integrated CF card reader in the monitor of the navigation system. Insert it into a CF card reader and connect it to your computer.

f) please follow the instructions of the update manager. Click on the corresponding red arrows in the lower right hand corner to proceed or go back in case you need to make corrections.

g) In our example you are clicking on the symbol for changing the navigation data base.

h) Then select the symbol for CD to CF card transmission: “Get the navigation data base from the CD / DVD.“

i) After inserting the DVD into the DVD drive (if not inserted already) and the CF card into the card reader, click Next. You will see a selection of data bases. Select the data base you wish to install.

j) After selecting the map pack and then the CF card, a window with a mask will appear where you have to enter the serial, license, and key codes. Then copying will start.

k) If you use the Colour Update Manager, the map material selected will be saved directly at the correct place on the CF card.

l) After successful data transmission, insert the CF card into the CF card reader in the navigation system monitor. Done.
